NB Museum Explores Other Options For Collections Centre Expansion

We're hearing more about the archeological site that's located below the New Brunswick Museum on Douglas Avenue because of the latest expansion plans being looked at for the collections centre.

Museum CEO Jane Fullerton says it was used as a portage route to transport people from Marble Cove on the St. John river over to the harbour area on the other side. She says it was likely used for that purpose for thousands of years and then in the 19th century there was other development on that site.

She calls it an important archeological site and as such, it has to be treated with great care.
